This market will resolve based on whether Lionel Messi officially announces his retirement from club-level professional soccer at any point after market launch and on or before December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM UTC. The market resolves to “Yes” if Messi or his official representatives clearly announce that he is retiring or indefinitely departing from club-level professional soccer, with the departure intended to take effect within 12 months of the announcement. The market resolves to “No” if no such announcement occurs by the deadline. Only clear official statements of retirement/indefinite departure from club soccer (effective within 12 months) qualify. Vague statements, long-term plans, or unofficial reports do not. International soccer participation has no effect on resolution. Primary source: official statements from Messi or his authorized representatives. A consensus of credible reporting may be used if needed. If the outcome cannot be reasonably determined from the designated sources within a reasonable time after the deadline, the market will be voided.
