“Gadi Eisenkot has rapidly emerged as Benjamin Netanyahu’s most serious challenger. The former IDF Chief of Staff is positioning himself as a credible alternative leader after October 7. Will Eisenkot become Israel’s next Prime Minister?”
Legislative elections are scheduled to be held in Israel on October 27, 2026. This market will resolve based on the next individual who is officially appointed and sworn in as Prime Minister of Israel following the 2026 parliamentary election (or any earlier election if one is called). The market resolves Yes if Gadi Eizenkot (Eisenkot) is formally sworn in as Prime Minister after the election. The market resolves No if any other individual is sworn in as Prime Minister. Only the person formally sworn in counts - interim, caretaker, or acting Prime Ministers do not qualify. If no new Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM UTC, the market will resolve No. In the event of early elections, the market will resolve according to the Prime Minister sworn in after that election. Primary resolution sources, in order of priority, are official announcements from the Knesset website (knesset.gov.il) or the Prime Minister’s Office (pmo.gov.il / gov.il), followed by official statements by the President of Israel or the Knesset Speaker, with consensus of credible major media reporting (such as Times of Israel, Haaretz, Jerusalem Post, Reuters, or AP) used as a supplement if needed. If no reliable data is available or the resolution cannot be reasonably determined, this market will be voided and all outcomes will settle at 50/50.
