“Apple has never released a MacBook with a touchscreen, despite years of rumors and patents. The company has instead kept the Mac and iPad product lines distinct. This market asks whether Apple fully releases a touchscreen MacBook by the end of 2026.”
This market will resolve based on whether Apple officially releases a MacBook with a touchscreen on or before December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM UTC. The market resolves to Yes if Apple makes a MacBook with a true touchscreen available for purchase by the general public by the resolution deadline. The product must be explicitly branded as a MacBook. A true touchscreen is required; a Touch Bar or similar non-screen input does not qualify. An iMac or any other non-MacBook device does not qualify. The market resolves to No if no such MacBook is available for general public purchase by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM UTC. An announcement, unveiling, or reveal of a future product does not qualify. Limited availability, invite-only sales, developer units, or any form of restricted access do not count as a full release, regardless of media coverage.Primary resolution sources are official statements and product pages from Apple (including apple.com, the Apple Store, or official Apple accounts). A wide consensus of credible reporting from major outlets may also be used if official sources are delayed or incomplete. If primary and secondary sources conflict or the outcome cannot be reasonably determined, the market will be voided.
