“This market asks whether President Donald Trump formally declares a national emergency explicitly relating to interference in U.S. elections or election processes by the end of 2026.”
This market will resolve based on whether President Donald Trump formally declares a national emergency, pursuant to the National Emergencies Act, explicitly relating to interference in U.S. elections or election processes, by December 31, 2026, 23:59 UTC. The market resolves to Yes if President Trump issues a formal declaration stating that a national emergency exists under the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. § 1621 et seq.), and the declaration explicitly references interference in U.S. elections, election processes, election systems, voting procedures, ballots, or voting machines as the basis for the emergency. The market resolves to No if no such declaration is issued by December 31, 2026, 23:59 UTC. Statements, speeches, social media posts, draft orders, or executive orders that do not formally declare a national emergency under the National Emergencies Act do not qualify. Renewals or extensions of previously existing national emergencies do not qualify unless the text is materially modified to explicitly relate to election interference.Primary resolution sources are the Federal Register and official White House publications. A consensus of credible reporting may be used only if official sources are delayed or incomplete. If primary and secondary sources conflict or the outcome cannot be reasonably determined, the market will be voided.
