“Anthropic and OpenAI are two of the leading AI companies. This market asks which one completes an Initial Public Offering (IPO) first - or if neither does by the deadline.”
This market will resolve based on which company completes an Initial Public Offering (IPO) first by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM UTC. The market resolves to “Anthropic” if Anthropic completes an IPO before OpenAI completes an IPO by the deadline. The market resolves to “OpenAI” if OpenAI completes an IPO before Anthropic completes an IPO by the deadline. The market resolves 50-50 if neither company completes an IPO by the deadline, if both companies complete an IPO on the same calendar date (UTC), or if by the deadline both companies become unable to complete an IPO (including due to acquisition, merger, or absorption by an entity that is already publicly traded). An IPO refers to the first sale of stock by the company to the public on any recognized stock exchange. Official company announcements of a completed IPO count immediately. Rumors, filings that do not result in a public listing, or private funding rounds do not qualify. A company becoming publicly traded through a reverse merger, SPAC, or similar structure counts as an IPO for the purposes of this market if it results in the company being listed and publicly traded. Primary resolution source: official company announcements. A consensus of credible reporting will also suffice. If the outcome cannot be reasonably determined, the market will be voided.
